ORNAP ILOILO: On the Go at the 37th ORNAP National Convention

The Operating Room Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ORNAP)held its 37th Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting last July 02-03, 2011 at the Manila Hotel with the theme: “Preserving and Protecting the Epitome of Perioperative Nursing Practice Towards Quality Care and Patient Safety”. 

The two day scientific meeting embarked discussions on the upliftment of every nurse's ethico-moral and legal liability and accountability, personal and professional growth as well as other necessary practices  of perioperative nursing.

Iloilo Chapter was embraced with eager involvement and energetic enthusiasm of every participant as the chapter was once again recognized as newly active. ORNAP ILOILO was one of the 13 National Chapter Participants of the said convention with a total of 60 representatives from different Iloilo city hospitals and district hospitals of the province. Also marked with 187 registered regular members and 2 newly registered lifetime members. Indeed, our chapter is taking its milestones step by step looking forward to be the best!... In years to come! ORNAP ILOILO: A New Chapter for a New Beginning

A beautiful day was graced for ORNAP ILOILO CHAPTER as it was formally inaugurated by the ORNAP Regional President Mr. Romeo Santarina, AB,RN,MAN  at the Iloilo Grand Tower, Iloilo City on June 11, 2011.

This general assembly was attended by Chief Nurses, Supervisors, Head Nurses and Staff Nurses of various hospitals in the city and district hospitals of the region. The Program was opened by our very dear ORNAP ILOILO founder-adviser, Sr. Marvelyn Aquino, SPC, as she cordially welcomes a new beginning for a semi-active chapter to relight the burning fire of the past of this before active chapter.

The ORNAP ILOILO CHAPTER Officers were  as well inducted by the regional president to their oath of office before 44 witnesses followed with words of encouragement by the regional vice-president Mrs. Redenta Mamaclay.

As reviewed by our regional president and vice president, ORNAP ILOILO CHAPTER had been active years ago; the last activation was on the year 2009 but then unfortunately was left inactive for a while.

The program was preceded with an interaction between the participants and the guest speakers as questions and clarifications were asked and discussed to the full content of understanding.

The assembly was concluded by the newly inducted ORNAP ILOILO CHAPTER PRESIDENT Mr. Alex Gatmaitan, RN as he expressed that once again it is never too late for a very determined, unwavering and full of potential chapter to begin again hand in hand with fellow Operating Room Nurses with the grace of Lord, the fire should be kept burning.
